Programming languages are a new term in technology. When a beginner asks us to suggest any programming language, we recommend C. So, let us see, what are these programming languages and How these programming languages discovered, How the idea to invent these programming languages came into mind and different types of programming languages.
The first created programming language was Plankalkül which was the first constructed high-level language by Konda Zuse in (1942-1945)which has an associate compiler created by Corrado Bohm in 1951. But later FORTRAN came which was first commercially available in 1956 developed by a team led by John Backus at IBM in 1954.
But in 1972 C-language came which changed the revolution of computers which was created by American computer scientist Dennis Ritchie at bell labs. At that C became most favoured and used for developing many computer applications, Operating systems later making changes C++ came and, java, C, Python and many programming languages developed.
In olden days, there used to do any calculations manually on paper for small estimates; it is ok. Still, for significant problems and tasks, it became difficult to solve and tackle challenging issues of arithmetic accurately with less period.
Then they got a thought why don’t we create a machine-understandable language which accomplishes our work more efficiently. This thought made to develop an understandable computer language, i.e. binary language. This thought changed the revolution of technology which we are experiencing now. It is getting more advanced in future, making our work more straightforward from easy to a difficult task.
From the mid of 19 the century, many languages were created based on the purpose of use and work accomplishment. Which classified as low, middle and high-level languages?
Low-level languages: Machine language, Assembly language
Mid-level languages: C language
High-level languages: COBOL, FORTRAN, PASCAL, C, C#, PROLOG, JAVA, PYTHON, NET.
And these are further classified as;
- Functional programming languages (C language)
- Object-oriented programming languages (C++, java, python)
- Scripting programming languages (HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, PHP…)
- Database programming languages (SQL, Oracle...)
Finally, these programming languages changed the revolution of Computer Science in the development of technology which reduced the usage of the workforce in various tasks. And these programming languages are used in many operating systems like Windows, Ubuntu, Android etc.
These also used in many database management systems and many web applications which are used for various purposes, also developing much software. They proved useful in many fields like gaming, entertainment, education, work etc.
These fields like Artificial intelligence, Machine learning, Digital marketing and so on use programming which are playing a vital role in the enhancement of technology day by day. It reduces human resources, making everything possible on the web. Like online ticket booking, Online shopping, Online payments which reduced the usage of the workforce and made live simpler it is all because of programming languages.
For example, if we want to shop we can shop online we need not go to the shop, we can directly send money online instead of going to the bank standing in a queue. If we want to book travel tickets or movie tickets, we can easily do it online instead of going there and booking in such a way their usage in technology reduced the usage of human resources.
