Self Control
Self Regulation or Self Control is an important attribute of Emotional Intelligence and can be said to be the key quality for a Leader...
# it encompasses having control over one's emotions, feelings, senses, body language and attitude.
# a Leader cannot stay long at the top if he does not have self control which can be developed through a conscious training of one's mind by being self aware of their inner being.
# many Leaders give lot of importance only to their outer appearance and ignore their inner being which in reality is where the real person is.
# the physical apperance is only the tip of the ice berg of a human being while the inner self is where all the actual character lies.
# it is therefore imperative that a Leader pays alot of attention to develop Self Awareness in order to better understand him or her self and then bring Self Control into play so that he then behaves in an appropriate disciplined way with his team and other stake holders to earn their trust and boost their morale.

Humility is many a time misunderstood as being weak.... and some Leaders use their Power and Position to show case their pride and Arrogance on their Team members resulting in hurt feelings... then how can a Team work efficiently and Productively.... The Leader fails to understand that Pride closes the door to Spiritual Growth, but Humility opens the door of your life to more of God's grace. Humility is the key to Spiritual Growth....and is the door to Great Leadership.

I read this inspiring quote some years back when I was chasing success the wrong way.... these words had a profound impact on my life that it made me search and learn more of those qualities that would make me a person of high value rather than a person of super success.... today looking back on the things I learnt, I realize that these words do open up windows to the mind of an aspiring Leader where Social Skills, Life Skills and Spiritual Principles are the key value additions that he can add to his basket of overall Personality.... and that would ultimately make him an Effective Leader who will radiate energy filled with high morals and values to his Team.... he becomes a Role Model for his team to follow...!!!
